Social housing for our community

We believe that secure, appropriate, and affordable housing is a basic human right. It provides the foundational stability for individuals and families to enhance wellbeing and create a full, independent life for themselves. Social housing plays a critical role in supporting people impacted by the housing affordability crisis.

We are proud that for over ten years, Baptcare Affordable Housing (BAH) has played a role in providing housing for people in need.

Baptcare Affordable Housing currently:

• provides homes to over 700 residents
• manages over 300 apartments, villas, townhouses and houses
• provides social housing in communities across Metropolitan Melbourne, Greater Geelong, Wangaratta, and Devonport.

There are many reasons why affordable housing is critical to our collective future.
These include:

• 80% of low-income earners paying more rent than they can afford
• an ageing population
• a general decline in home ownership.

In response to the growing need for affordable housing, Baptcare Affordable Housing was created in 2013 as a subsidiary of Baptcare Ltd.
